How Do I Get My Puppy Home?
You asked what your options are to get your new puppy home? Here are what other families have done.
Since I have used my time many times before to figure out how much it would cost to go to different places, just to have the family say it was too much. I now, will give you the information and you can find out the cost and make that decision for yourself.
*Drive to North Carolina, pick up puppy at my home and drive home.
*Depending on if I have time, I can meet you 2 hours in any direction of my house, which saves you 4 hours of driving. I charge $125 for my time, gas, etc.
*You can fly into Raleigh (RDU), rent a car drive to my home, pick up pup and drive home.
*You can fly into Raleigh (RDU), rent a car drive to my home, pick up pup and drive back to airport and fly home with pup in the cabin.
*You can fly into Raleigh (RDU), I can meet you at the airport with pup, you fly home with pup in cabin. I charge $125 for my time, gas, etc.
*Since there are some issues currently flying pets as cargo either because of weather or airlines suspending service, the pups would either need to go with a flight nanny, clients have been using TLC Flight Nanny https://tlcflightnanny.com/ or Pet Jet Pals https://petjetpals.com. I charge $125 to drive to airport for my time, gas, etc.
*Or you can use ground transport, I just recently had a pup come to me from Coast 2 Coast Pet Transport LLC. http://www.coast2coastpettransport.com/ He arrived clean and in good spirits, Brandy is a little more expensive but I have used 2 other ground transporters and the puppies arrived covered in urine, so she is the one I would recommend.
*There is a FB group that offers flight nannies and ground transport. I would make sure that whomever you hire is USDA licensed and insured. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1400310853424777/
Just so you can compare cost if we were able to fly cargo: crate $70, dishes $15, crate mat $25, flying certificate from vet $88, flight last time I was able to use cargo it was $311 plus my round trip to RDU $125. So $634 to fly cargo, however you do get to keep the crate, dishes and mat.
We have decided not to ship internationally unless someone is taking the puppy in the cabin from the US.
